bendian
is known primarily for his work as an improvising percussionist
with derek bailey and cecil taylor. this release, the debut recording
of his group interzone, should go a long way toward establishing
him as a group leader, composer, and vibes player of the first
order. rigorous and swinging compositionally based music with some
kind of prog-rock slant, played by an exquisitely versatile ensemble.
